DESKTOP COLOR SYNC v1.0
[ SYSTEM CONTROL INTERFACE ]
============================================================================== W A R N I N G UNAUTHORIZED ACCESS TO THIS SYSTEM IS STRICTLY PROHIBITED ALL ACTIVITIES ARE MONITORED AND LOGGED
[] System: Webhook Desktop Color Control v1.0 [] Status: ACTIVE [] Security: ENABLED [] Protocol: HTTP/1.1
SYSTEM OVERVIEW
This system provides real-time control of desktop background colors via secure webhook endpoints. Supports instant color switching and smooth interpolation between color values.
[WHY DO YOU NEED THIS?] Transform your desktop into a real-time data visualization canvas. Use color to communicate system status, build progress, server health, stock prices, weather conditions, or any metric that changes over time. Perfect for ambient monitoring systems and physical computing projects.
[PRACTICAL APPLICATIONS]
- CI/CD build status: Green for passing tests, red for failures
- Server monitoring: Blue for normal, orange for warnings, red for alerts
- Trading dashboard: Colors shift based on portfolio performance
- IoT sensors: Desktop color reflects temperature, humidity, or air quality
- Mood lighting: Sync with smart home systems or calendar events
- Gaming status: Show when you're available, busy, or in-game
- Weather indication: Color reflects current conditions outside

Server listening on port 8373...
API ENDPOINTS
[1] SOLID COLOR DEPLOYMENT
POST /color
Content-Type: application/json
Payload:
{"color": "#FF5733"}
Optional duration parameter (milliseconds):
{"color": "#FF5733", "duration": 5000}
Examples:
$ curl -X POST http://localhost:8373/color \
-H "Content-Type: application/json" \
-d '{"color": "#FF5733"}'
$ curl -X POST http://localhost:8373/color \
-H "Content-Type: application/json" \
-d '{"color": "#FF0000", "duration": 3000}'
[2] COLOR INTERPOLATION SEQUENCE
POST /interpolate
Content-Type: application/json
Payload:
{
"startColor": "#FF5733",
"endColor": "#33FF57",
"steps": 20,
"interval": 300
}
Parameters:
- steps: Number of interpolation frames
- interval: Milliseconds between frames
[3] SMOOTH GRADIENT TRANSITION
POST /gradient
Content-Type: application/json
Payload:
{
"startColor": "#FF5733",
"endColor": "#33FF57",
"duration": 10000,
"restoreOriginal": true
}
Parameters:
- duration: Total time for gradient in milliseconds
- restoreOriginal: Restore original wallpaper after gradient completes
Example:
$ curl -X POST http://localhost:8373/gradient \
-H "Content-Type: application/json" \
-d '{
"startColor": "#FF0000",
"endColor": "#0000FF",
"duration": 15000,
"restoreOriginal": true
}'
DEPLOYMENT SCENARIOS
[SCENARIO A: BUILD STATUS MONITOR] Connect to Jenkins/GitHub Actions. Green desktop = all builds passing, red = failures detected. Instantly know project health without checking multiple dashboards.
Integration: Webhook from CI system calls /color endpoint
Example colors: #00FF00 (success), #FF0000 (failure), #FFAA00 (building)
[SCENARIO B: SERVER HEALTH DASHBOARD] Monitor production systems. Desktop color reflects overall infrastructure status across multiple servers and services.
Integration: Monitoring system (Nagios, DataDog) triggers webhooks
Color scheme: Blue (healthy), yellow (warnings), red (critical)
[SCENARIO C: AMBIENT WEATHER DISPLAY] Desktop color matches current weather conditions. Glance at your screen to know if you need an umbrella.
Integration: Weather API calls /interpolate for smooth transitions
Color mapping: Blue (rain), gray (clouds), yellow (sunny), white (snow)
[SCENARIO D: PRODUCTIVITY TIMER] Visual Pomodoro timer. Desktop gradually shifts from green to red as work session progresses.
Integration: Timer app calls /interpolate endpoint
Progression: Green -> Yellow -> Orange -> Red over 25 minutes
[SCENARIO E: TEMPORARY ALERTS] Flash desktop red for 3 seconds when critical alert occurs, then automatically restore original wallpaper.
Integration: Monitoring system calls /color with duration parameter
Example: {"color": "#FF0000", "duration": 3000}
Use case: Critical server alerts, build failures, security breaches
[SCENARIO F: NOTIFICATION SYSTEM] Brief color changes for different types of notifications without permanently changing the desktop appearance.
Integration: Notification system uses duration parameter
Color codes: Blue (new message), Green (task complete), Orange (reminder)
[SCENARIO G: SUNRISE/SUNSET SIMULATION] Gradual color transition mimicking natural light changes throughout day. Smooth progression from warm morning light to cool daylight to warm sunset.
Integration: Scheduler calls /gradient endpoint at timed intervals
Morning: Orange -> Yellow -> White (30 minute transition)
Evening: White -> Orange -> Deep Red (45 minute transition)
[SCENARIO H: DEPLOYMENT PROGRESS INDICATOR] Visual representation of long-running deployments or data processing. Desktop gradually transitions from start color to completion color.
Integration: CI/CD pipeline calls /gradient with restoreOriginal=true
Progress: Red -> Yellow -> Green over deployment duration
Automatically restores original wallpaper when complete
OPERATIONAL SEQUENCE
1. System creates temporary image cache directory
2. Detects current display resolution
3. Generates solid color bitmap at native resolution
4. Deploys bitmap as desktop background via AppleScript
5. For interpolation: pre-generates all frames, cycles at interval
SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS
