countdown central

a brutalist countdown dashboard for tracking important deadlines and events.

what it is

• monochrome design (black text on white, very chill)
• tracks countdowns to space launches, elections, climate deadlines, etc
• real-time updates (ticks down every second)
• admin interface to add/edit/delete countdowns
• uses json files for data (no database needed)
• built with nuxt 3 + vue + tailwind

running it

npm install
npm run dev

open http://localhost:3000

adding countdowns

go to /admin to add new countdowns. you can set:

• title and description
• target date/time
• category (space, politics, climate, etc)
• display format (days, hours, minutes, seconds)

changes save to data/countdowns.json - commit them to make them permanent.

deploying

npm run build

deploy the .output folder to vercel, netlify, or anywhere that runs node.

the admin interface works but changes only persist if you can commit to the repo (which is the auth model - very simple).

vibe

inspired by nasa mission control displays and brutalist web design. ibm plex mono font throughout. no colors, just pure information density.
